Responsibilities

• Perform dental cleanings and provide preventive care.
• Take and interpret X-rays as needed.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques.
• Assist the dentist during procedures.
• Document patient treatment plans and updates.
• Manage and maintain dental tools and equipment.
• Schedule patient appointments and follow-ups.
• Identify periodontal disease and other conditions.
• Ensure the sterilization of instruments and work areas.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Dental Hygiene
• Registered as a dental hygienist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)

Experience

• 2+ years of experience as a dental hygienist

• Patient Care
• Dental Software Proficiency

Certifications

• Certified Dental Hygienist (CDH)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational
