Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Mental Health Counselor to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of mental health issues and be skilled in providing therapy and support to individuals facing emotional and psychological challenges. You will play a key role in enhancing our clients' quality of life through dedicated mental health services.

Responsibilities

• Administer therapeutic methods tailored to clients' unique situations.
• Assess client needs and set measurable goals.

• Support clients in navigating the recovery process.
• Maintain compliance with ethical and legal standards.
• Promote mental health awareness in the community.
• Document all interactions and communications with clients.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field
• Master's degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mental health counseling or a related area

Certifications

• Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC)

• Knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Experience with CBT techniques and their application in treatment.
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans/Xhosa: Ability to communicate effectively in both languages with clients.
