Job Description

As a Veterinary Surgeon at our clinic in Durban, you will be responsible for the medical care of a variety of animals. This includes performing surgical procedures, educating pet owners, and ensuring the overall health of our patients. Your expertise will be vital in fostering a caring and compassionate environment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat injuries and illnesses in various pet species.
  • Perform routine and emergency surgical procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with clients about their pet's treatment and care.
  • Oversee the quality control of veterinary services provided.
  • Educate and guide clients on preventative health care measures.
  • Ensure compliance with veterinary regulations and standards.
  • Foster a positive relationship with pet owners and their pets.
  • Participate in the training of new veterinary staff.
  • Manage time effectively to accommodate appointments and emergencies.
  • Contribute to the growth and success of the veterinary practice.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) or equivalent.
  • Master's in Veterinary Medicine is advantageous.
Experience
  • 5+ years in clinical veterinary practice preferred.
