CyberSecure Inc. is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to join our dedicated team in Pretoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and defending our systems against cyber threats. This role is crucial in safeguarding our client’s data and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Your expertise will contribute to designing proactive security measures and responding to incidents effectively.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network and system security breaches and perform vulnerability assessments.
• Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Identify potential security threats and provide recommendations for mitigating risks.
• Conduct regular security audits to ensure compliance with local and international standards.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents as they arise.
• Conduct training sessions for employees on cybersecurity best practices.
• Collaborate with IT teams to enhance existing security infrastructure.
• Research and implement emerging cybersecurity technologies and practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or cybersecurity-related field
• Master's degree in Cybersecurity or equivalent is an advantage

Experience

• 3+ years in a cybersecurity position with increasing responsibilities

Technical Skills

• Firewall Management
• Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)

Soft Skills

• Detail-Oriented
• Collaboration

Certifications

• CompTIA Security+
• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with cloud security solutions: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms' security mechanisms.
• Familiarity with compliance standards: Understanding of GDPR, HIPAA, and other relevant security frameworks.
