Job Description

A Forensic Pathologist is a vital role, tasked with examining deceased individuals to ascertain the cause of death in suspicious or unexplained circumstances. You will employ your expertise in forensic pathology to conduct autopsies and provide insights that support legal investigations.

Responsibilities

• Perform post-mortem examinations to ascertain cause of death.
• Analyze medical and other evidence pertinent to forensic investigations.
• Document findings meticulously for future legal reference.
• Engage with law enforcement for collaborative investigations.
• Provide consultations to legal and medical professionals.
• Present findings in court when required.
• Lead quality assurance processes within the pathology department.
• Research and publish findings to contribute to the forensic community.
• Implement new technologies and methodologies in forensic pathology.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during examinations.

Requirements

Education

• Medical degree and specialization in pathology
• Additional certification in forensic pathology is advantageous

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in general pathology, with forensic pathology experience as a plus.
