Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Psychologist to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping individuals navigate their mental health challenges through effective therapeutic practices. You will work closely with clients, conducting assessments, formulating treatment plans, and delivering therapy tailored to their needs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychological assessments and evaluations.
• Formulate and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Provide therapeutic interventions to clients and monitor progress.
• Educate clients and families about mental health issues and coping strategies.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Psychology
• PhD in Psychology preferred

Experience

• 3+ years in a clinical role, preferably in mental health

Technical Skills

• Behavioral Therapy
• Individual Counseling

Soft Skills

• Critical Thinking
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Registered with HPCSA
• Additional relevant certifications are advantageous

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience with trauma-informed care: Familiarity with methods focusing on trauma survivors’ needs.
• Familiarity with research methodologies in psychology: Knowledge of how to integrate research into practice.
