Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Psychologist to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping individuals navigate their mental health challenges through effective therapeutic practices. You will work closely with clients, conducting assessments, formulating treatment plans, and delivering therapy tailored to their needs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments for new clients.
• Create detailed treatment plans tailored to each client's needs.
• Utilize various therapeutic techniques effectively during sessions.
• Support clients in achieving their mental health goals.
• Network with local resources for client referrals and support services.
• Engage in research activities related to mental health best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Psychology
• PhD in Psychology preferred

Experience

• 3+ years in a clinical role, preferably in mental health

Technical Skills

• Behavioral Therapy
• Individual Counseling

Soft Skills

• Critical Thinking
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Registered with HPCSA
• Additional relevant certifications are advantageous

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Advanced training in specific therapies (e.g., EMDR): Training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy.
• Workshops in mindfulness-based practices: Experience in mindfulness techniques for mental wellness.
