Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Public Health Officer to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing public health programs and initiatives aimed at improving community health. You will work closely with government agencies, community leaders, and the public to promote awareness and educate on health-related issues.

Responsibilities

  • Implement community health improvement strategies.
  • Lead health initiative assessments and evaluations.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings to discuss public health issues.
  • Communicate health data effectively to the public.
  • Organize vaccination drives and preventive screenings.
  • Develop culturally appropriate health materials.
  • Coordinate mental health awareness programs.
  • Advocate for policies that promote public health.
  • Manage budgets for health programs and initiatives.
  • Report on project outcomes and metrics.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related field
  • Master's degree in Public Health is preferred
Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in a public health setting
