Water Purifier Operator

Job Description

The Water Purifier Operator is tasked with the operation and maintenance of water purification systems, ensuring that clean and safe drinking water is produced. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of water treatment processes and hands-on experience in operational management.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the performance of water treatment systems and implement necessary modifications.
• Conduct regular inspections of purification equipment to ensure optimal operation.
• Document all activities and maintain logs of operational data.
• Participate in training programs to stay updated on industry best practices.
• Assist in the development of operational protocols and safety guidelines.
• Evaluate and manage chemical supplies and stock levels for treatments.
• Support environmental compliance audits as necessary.
• Work closely with the Quality Control Inspector to ensure water quality.
• Engage in problem-solving to enhance purification processes.
• Participate in team discussions to improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

Education

• Matric Certificate or equivalent
• Relevant certification or diploma in Water Treatment or related field

Experience

• Prior experience in operating water purification systems is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of water treatment processes and equipment
• Experience with SCADA systems

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Advantageous

• Knowledge of South African water quality regulations: Familiarity with local laws and standards governing water treatment.
• Experience with reverse osmosis systems: Hands-on experience with reverse osmosis technologies in water purification.
• Understanding of chemical dosing processes: Knowledge of how to safely handle and apply treatment chemicals.
