Job Description

We're on the lookout for an AI Research Scientist to spearhead innovative projects in Durban. In this role, you'll focus on developing cutting-edge algorithms and models to enhance our AI capabilities. Successful candidates will be well-versed in data analysis, machine learning techniques, and provide strategic insights to drive AI initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of AI research projects.
• Collaborate with product teams to define project scope and requirements.
• Develop prototypes to demonstrate AI capabilities and solutions.
• Evaluate the performance of various AI models and algorithms.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Ensure best practices in AI research and data handling.
• Support interdisciplinary teams in project delivery with AI insights.
• Innovate AI strategies and contribute to R&D proposals.
• Benchmark AI models against industry standards.
• Contribute to the growth of AI knowledge within the organization.

Requirements

Education

• Doctorate in a quantitative field
• Master's in Artificial Intelligence or Data Science is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of research experience in AI or ML
