Public Health Officer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Public Health Officer based in Johannesburg. This role focuses on promoting public health initiatives, prevention strategies, and community health education. An ideal candidate will be passionate about health promotion and have a background in public health or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Assess public health needs through various research methods.
• Implement strategies to improve community health outcomes.
• Liaise with governmental and non-governmental health agencies.
• Prepare public health reports and disseminate findings.
• Provide training and support to community health workers.
• Advocate for policies that promote public health.
• Utilize data management systems to track health metrics.
• Facilitate community health education seminars.
• Conduct outreach programs to underserved populations.
• Evaluate the community's response to health initiatives.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or related fields
• Master's degree in Public Health or Administration is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in community health or public health roles
