Actuarial Analyst

Job Description

We are looking for an Actuarial Analyst passionate about numbers and technology to join our Durban office. In this role, you will focus on risk modeling and data analysis to solve complex problems for our clients, contributing to impactful decisions and strategies.

Responsibilities

• Execute quantitative analyses to support strategic initiatives.
• Prepare and present analytical findings to clients and senior management.
• Maintain actuarial software and databases for efficient data management.
• Work with other analysts to streamline processes and share best practices.
• Engage in continuous learning to remain a key contributor in actuarial analysis.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or Financial Mathematics
• Completion of several actuarial exams is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years in an actuarial capacity, with familiarity in Life and Health products being an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Statistical Analysis Tools (SAS, R)
• Data Visualization Software (Tableau, Power BI)

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Teamwork

Certifications

• AFC Certification
• Actuarial Society of South Africa Membership

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with machine learning techniques: Basic knowledge of applying machine learning for actuarial applications.
