Job Description

The Gas Plant Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a gas plant in Johannesburg. This role involves monitoring plant operations and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation of the gas plant to ensure maximum efficiency.
• Implement maintenance schedules and ensure timely execution.
• Analyze plant data and prepare reports on performance metrics.
• Coordinate with the engineering team for equipment upgrades.
• Assist in developing training materials for new employees.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in gas technology.
• Act as a liaison between management and operational staff.
• Encourage a culture of safety within the plant.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all equipment meets operational standards and specifications.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 12 Certificate
• National Diploma in a relevant field is a plus

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in gas plant operations

Technical Skills

• Mechanical troubleshooting
• Gas processing technology

Soft Skills

• Analytical skills
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Safety training certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience mentoring other plant operators: Ability to train junior operators in plant procedures.
