Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Proofreader to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of the English language and experience in proofreading various types of content, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all materials.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough proofreading of manuscripts before final approval for publication.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends in writing and publishing.
• Support the editorial team with research and fact-checking.
• Respond to queries from writers and provide guidance on proofreading best practices.
• Create and maintain a glossary of commonly used terms and phrases for reference.
• Assist with special projects as assigned.

Advantageous

• Experience with legal or technical writing: Background in proofreading complex subjects, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
• Knowledge of AP Style or Chicago Manual of Style: Proficient in using industry-standard style guides to enhance content quality.
