Job Description

We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to assess and evaluate insurance applications. You will play a crucial role in determining policy eligibility, suitability, and premiums for our clients. The ideal candidate will have experience in underwriting and a deep understanding of the insurance market.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough risk assessments for policy applications.
• Partner with brokers to enhance understanding of client requirements.
• Establish and maintain relationships with clients to support retention.
• Regularly review and update underwriting guidelines.
• Participate in training sessions and workshops to improve skillset.
• Provide recommendations for improving underwriting procedures.
• Maintain an understanding of market trends and competitors.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field
• Master's degree is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in insurance or underwriting

Technical Skills

• Policy Evaluation
• Claims Processing

Soft Skills

• Negotiation Skills
• Detail-oriented

Certifications

• Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI)
• Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in commercial underwriting: Understanding of commercial insurance products and risk management.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools: Ability to analyze data trends related to risk assessment.
