Surgical Technologist

Job Description

Seeking a detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to assist with surgical procedures, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are ready and sterile for optimal patient care.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain sterile surgical instruments and equipment.
• Assemble the necessary supplies for various surgical procedures.
• Assist in the positioning of patients for surgery.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols.
• Participate in surgical team briefings and debriefings.
• Support the anesthesiologist and nursing staff as needed.
• Participate in training and professional development activities.
• Manage the workflow in the operating room efficiently.
• Handle specimens as per protocol.
• Clean and restock the operating room after surgeries.

Requirements

Education

• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program

Experience

• 2+ years in a surgical role preferred

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of surgical procedures
• EMR systems familiarity

Advantageous

• Strong knowledge of infection control practices: In-depth understanding and application of infection control protocols.
• Ability to work in a high-volume surgical environment: Proven capability to handle a fast-paced surgical setting.
