Neonatal Nurse

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Neonatal Nurse to join our team in Cape Town. You will provide specialized care for newborns, ensuring their health and well-being in the neonatal unit.

Responsibilities

• Assess newborns for health concerns and respond appropriately.
• Provide specialized nursing care tailored to each infant's needs.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulations.
• Facilitate smooth handovers and communication in the care team.
• Support staff in educational programs and mentorship.
• Actively participate in departmental quality improvement programs.
• Advocate for patient needs within the healthcare system.
• Engage in continuous professional development and training.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Specialist qualification in Neonatology preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in a neonatal unit or pediatric care

Technical Skills

• Patient Assessment
• Emergency Response

• Stress Management

Certifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
• Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) Certificate is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Basic
