Job Description

As a Veterinarian with Animal Health Services in Polokwane, your role will encompass diagnosing ailments, performing surgeries, and managing patient care. You will work closely with pet owners to enhance the wellbeing of their beloved pets through effective treatment plans and ongoing education.

Responsibilities

  • Assess animal health and manage chronic conditions.
  • Perform routine and emergency surgical procedures.
  • Compile and maintain complete patient records electronically.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding treatment options and follow-ups.
  • Lead discussions on pet health insurance and costs.
  • Conduct necropsies to determine disease causes.
  • Document treatments and update patient files in a timely manner.
  • Develop relationships with local pet rescues and shelters for community service.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc)
  • Postgraduate diploma in veterinary surgery is advantageous
Experience
  • Experience in emergency and critical care preferred
