Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for an experienced Environmental Engineer to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability practices, and will be responsible for designing and implementing projects that reduce environmental impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead design meetings to review project development status and collaborate with key stakeholders.
• Ensure that all designs meet safety and environmental compliance.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining high-quality engineering standards.
• Assist in the mentoring and training of junior engineers and interns.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new projects.
• Review and approve project drawings and specifications for final submissions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Professional certifications are a plus

Experience

• 5 years of experience in structural design and analysis

Technical Skills

• SAP2000
• RISA

Soft Skills

• Attention to Detail
• Problem-Solving

Certifications

• SANS Training Certification
• Lean Six Sigma Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Skills in BIM software: Experience with Building Information Modeling software such as Revit or Tekla.
• Knowledge of energy-efficient design techniques: Understanding and application of principles that promote energy efficiency in building design.
