Tax Consultant

Job Description

As a Tax Consultant, you will be responsible for advising clients on tax efficiency and compliance. This includes conducting detailed tax research, preparing various tax returns, and liaising with the South African Revenue Service (SARS). Your role is pivotal in helping clients navigate complex tax environments effectively.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data to ensure tax accuracy.
• Provide pre-emptive advice to clients about their tax position.
• Participate in tax policy discussions and contribute insights.
• Work collaboratively with external auditors.
• Review client records for compliance with regulations.
• Deliver expert presentations on tax topics to clients.
• Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
• Assist clients in understanding complex tax laws.
• Develop marketing materials related to taxation services.
• Provide feedback on the development of tax service offerings.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation
• Master's degree in Taxation is preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of relevant experience

Technical Skills

• SAP Tax Compliance
• Excel Proficiency

Soft Skills

• Analytical Thinking
• Client Management

Certifications

• CIA (Certified Internal Auditor)
• Tax Consultant certification advantageous

Languages

• English: Fluent
