Job Description

As an Insurance Underwriter, you will play a critical role in evaluating risk and determining coverage for our clients. Collaborating with brokers and clients, your insights will drive our underwriting process in our Cape Town office. Ideal candidates should have strong analytical abilities and a passion for insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assess risks and make informed decisions on policy applications.
• Analyze client data to determine underwriting strategy.
• Work closely with other underwriters to establish best practices.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of current policies.
• Respond promptly to inquiries from brokers and clients.
• Support team in assessing and reducing potential risks.
• Maintain documentation of all underwriting activities and decisions.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance underwriting skills.
• Continuously update knowledge of new products and regulations.
• Contribute to team meetings and share best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in insurance underwriting

• Associate in Commercial Underwriting (ACU)
