Responsibilities

• Evaluate insurance applications to determine risks and coverage needs.
• Determine premium amounts and policy terms based on risk analysis.
• Collaborate with agents and clients to gather necessary information.
• Review claims and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of each policy and assessment.
• Respond to inquiries from clients and insurance agents regarding policies.
• Stay updated on industry trends and legislative changes affecting underwriting practices.
• Contribute to the development of new insurance products.
• Perform risk assessments and analyses for complex cases.
• Assist in training new underwriting staff and provide guidance.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in insurance underwriting

• Certified Insurance Underwriter (CIU)
