Job Description

Seeking a skilled Economic Analyst to contribute to our finance department in Port Elizabeth. The successful applicant will conduct thorough economic research, assess financial data, and collaborate with various teams to develop actionable insights. Your analytical skills will be essential in driving our economic strategies forward.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret economic trends to inform business strategies.
• Create and maintain databases for financial metrics and economic indicators.
• Collaborate with finance and operational teams to analyze performance metrics.
• Prepare and present reports for internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and strategies based on data.
• Assess risks and opportunities in the economic landscape.
• Support management in strategic planning sessions.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Supply economic data to aid in investment evaluations.
• Engage in continuous learning around economic policies and market conditions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Economics, Finance, Statistics)
• Master’s degree in Economics or related field preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in economic research or analysis

Technical Skills

• Quantitative Analysis
• Excel & Advanced Excel Functions

Soft Skills

• Problem-Solving
• Time Management

Certifications

• Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of Econometrics: Hands-on experience with econometric modeling techniques.
• Project Management Experience: Experience in managing projects in a financial environment.
