Job Description

We are seeking a Mining Engineer to join our team in Pretoria. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in mining operations, expertise in geology, and will be responsible for designing mining plans, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and optimizing extraction processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee drilling and blasting operations to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new mining sites and operations.
• Develop relationships with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Participate in budgeting and financial planning for mining projects.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field
• Master's degree in Mining Engineering or relevant discipline is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in underground mining operations

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• Resource Estimation

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Professional Mine Engineer Certification
• First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Environmental Regulations: Knowledge of relevant environmental laws and regulations is beneficial.
• Experience with GIS Software: Hands-on experience in GIS tools for mapping and analysis.
