Backend Developer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a talented Backend Developer to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. If you have a strong understanding of server-side logic and possess experience in working with databases and APIs, we want to hear from you. You'll play an essential role in the design and maintenance of our services, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable services utilizing Node.js.
• Work alongside other developers to establish best practices.
• Ensure applications are secure and handle data privacy properly.
• Create documentation for backend processes and APIs.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
• Identify system bottlenecks and recommend optimizations.
• Assist in the deployment and monitoring of applications in production.
• Contribute ideas for improve user experience and application design.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Master's degree in a technical field is preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in developing robust backend systems
