Pharmacist

Job Description

As a Pharmacist in our Cape Town facility, you will ensure safe and effective medication use among patients. You will educate patients on their medications, monitor their responses, and maintain accurate records. Your contributions will be vital in promoting community health.

Responsibilities

• Lead pharmaceutical care through consultations and patient education.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and quality assurance.
• Manage pharmacy staff and assist in training programs.
• Conduct drug utilization reviews to assess therapy effectiveness.
• Oversee medication therapy management programs.
• Advise on prescription pricing and medication access.
• Initiate health promotion activities within the community.
• Evaluate medication requests and collaborate with prescribers.
• Participate in pharmacy quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow ethical practices.

Requirements

Education

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
• Experience in clinical pharmacy is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in a retail or clinical pharmacy setting

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience in pharmaceutical sales: Knowledge of the pharmaceutical sales process and product promotion.
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans: Fluency in both English and Afrikaans for patient communication.
