Job Description

In your role as a Public Health Officer, you will lead efforts to enhance community health through research, education, and strategic partnerships. Your work will directly impact health outcomes and promote healthier lifestyles across Johannesburg.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies to reduce health inequalities in the community.
  • Facilitate focus groups and community discussions on health topics.
  • Implement vaccination drives and preventive health measures.
  • Conduct evaluations of community health programs to improve outcomes.
  • Collaborate with government bodies to influence health policies.
  • Manage public health communication strategies.
  • Supervise public health interns and volunteers.
  • Conduct research on local health issues and trends.
  • Coordinate mental health awareness programs.
  • Provide crisis management support during health emergencies.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, or related field
  • Master's degree in Public Health is an advantage
Experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in public health
