Psychiatrist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plans for patients experiencing mental health disorders. You will work collaboratively with our healthcare team to improve patient outcomes and develop treatment protocols.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and diagnose mental health disorders in patients.
• Create tailored therapy plans and set measurable goals.
• Work with a diverse patient population, adapting approaches as needed.
• Stay informed of new clinical procedures and psychotherapeutic techniques.
• Engage with community resources and support groups for patient care.
• Document treatment sessions and maintain comprehensive records.
• Participate in workshops and training to enhance professional skills.
• Establish strong rapport with patients to facilitate trust and communication.
• Conduct community outreach to raise awareness about mental health services.
• Review and interpret lab results and other diagnostics.

Requirements

Education

• Medical degree (MBChB or equivalent)
• Specialization in Adult Psychiatry or Child and Adolescent Psychiatry preferred.

Experience

• 5 years of experience in a clinical psychiatric setting.

Certifications

• National Board Certification in Psychiatry
• Advanced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner certification (if applicable).
