Job Description

In this exciting role as a Structural Engineer, you will design and oversee the construction of advanced structures ensuring they are safe, stable, and sustainable. You will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to innovate and solve complex problems while adhering to national standards and regulations. Your expertise will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of projects from conception to completion.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop structural systems and components for various construction projects.
• Collaborate with architects and project managers to deliver high-quality designs.
• Conduct structural analysis to ensure designs meet national safety and building codes.
• Inspect construction sites to monitor progress and ensure conformity with engineering designs.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for project stakeholders.
• Provide expert advice on structural engineering issues to resolve challenges.
• Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to produce detailed structural drawings.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers and interns.
• Stay updated with industry trends, methods, and advancements in engineering technologies.
• Manage project deadlines and budgets to ensure on-time delivery.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 7+ years of experience in design and construction

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Building Codes
• Sustainability Principles

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng)
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

Languages

• Afrikaans: Intermediate
• English: Fluent
