In this exciting role as a Structural Engineer, you will design and oversee the construction of advanced structures ensuring they are safe, stable, and sustainable. You will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to innovate and solve complex problems while adhering to national standards and regulations. Your expertise will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of projects from conception to completion.

Responsibilities

• Design structural components using engineering analysis software.
• Collaborate with teams to develop sustainable building solutions.
• Conduct field inspections of construction sites, ensuring progress aligns with design.
• Prepare and present reports detailing project progress to clients and stakeholders.
• Perform peer reviews of designs and project plans developed by colleagues.
• Identify potential risks in projects and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Maintain thorough records of all engineering projects and activities.
• Participate in continuing education to stay abreast of engineering advancements.
• Support negotiation of project contracts and terms with clients.
• Act as a point of contact for client inquiries related to structural designs.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 7+ years of experience in design and construction

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Building Codes
• Sustainability Principles

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng)
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

Languages

• Afrikaans: Intermediate
• English: Fluent
