Pharmacist

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Pharmacist to enhance our healthcare team in Durban. In this role, you will oversee the dispensing of medications, provide expert advice on drug interactions, and contribute to patient health education. A passion for community health is key.

Responsibilities

• Dispense and verify medications for accuracy.
• Provide comprehensive patient counseling on proper medication use.
• Ensure pharmacovigilance by monitoring patient responses to therapy.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
• Engage in quality assurance and improvement projects.
• Participate in continuing education to stay updated with pharmacy practices.
• Implement strategies for pharmacy health management programs.
• Act as a resource for drug information for the healthcare team.
• Develop individualized patient care plans along with the healthcare team.
• Monitor compliance with medication adherence and therapeutic guidelines.

Advantageous

• Experience in Community Outreach Programs: Engagement in health promotion within the community.
• Bilingual in English and Zulu: Ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
