Structural Engineer

Job Description

Join us as a Structural Engineer and take charge of exciting construction projects in Nelspruit. You will be responsible for developing structural designs, performing calculations, and collaborating with architects and contractors. A strong knowledge of local building codes and regulations is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of structural engineering projects.
• Perform calculations to determine structural loads and stability.
• Ensure all engineering designs comply with relevant codes and regulations.
• Work with other engineering disciplines to create cohesive designs.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on materials and designs.
• Act as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in project budgeting and scheduling.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and interns.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related field
• Postgraduate qualifications in Structural Engineering are preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in structural design and analysis

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Microsoft Office Suite

• Leadership

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng)
• LEED Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in seismic design: Knowledge of seismic design standards and practices.
