Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. In this role, you will evaluate and assess the risks associated with insurance proposals, ensuring that our clients receive appropriate coverage tailored to their unique circumstances. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of underwriting principles and possess excellent analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and assess client data to create customized insurance solutions.
• Design and refine underwriting processes to streamline operations.
• Identify potential areas for improvement in risk management strategies.
• Engage with clients to clarify coverage needs and expectations.
• Review claims history to inform underwriting decisions.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss underwriting policies.
• Continuously evaluate industry regulations and best practices.
• Document all underwriting decisions for future reference.

Requirements

Education

• Relevant postgraduate qualification is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the insurance sector with a focus on underwriting

Certifications

• Associate in Commercial Underwriting (ACU)

• English: Fluent
