DevOps Engineer

Job Description

We are on the hunt for a talented DevOps Engineer to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will boast a blend of development and operations experience, focusing on automating and improving our deployment processes. You’ll work closely with our development teams, ensuring that we integrate new features seamlessly while maintaining system stability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee deployments and keep systems running smoothly.
• Support and maintain existing cloud infrastructure.
• Ensure high levels of security and compliance.
• Collaborate with teams to identify and implement improvements.
• Monitor and report on operational health and system performance.
• Integrate new technologies to optimize workflows.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Master's degree in DevOps, Cloud Computing, or related field is a bonus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps or relevant experience

Technical Skills

• Python or Bash scripting
• Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)

Soft Skills

• Analytical thinking
• Attention to detail

Certifications

• Google Professional DevOps Engineer

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with microservices architecture: Understanding of microservices patterns and cloud-native applications.
• Experience with Service Mesh technologies: Exposure to Service Mesh architectures like Istio.
