Mining Engineer

Job Description

We are searching for an experienced Mining Engineer to join us in Port Elizabeth. You will play a critical role in the planning and execution of mining operations, focusing on safety and environmental management while maximising resource recovery.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain mining equipment for optimal performance.
• Evaluate and report on geological data and mining techniques.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and environmental laws.
• Facilitate communication between mine management and site personnel.
• Assist in the preparation of mining permits and regulatory submissions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field
• Master’s degree in Mining Engineering is a plus

Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in the mining industry

Technical Skills

• CAD Software Proficiency
• Environmental Impact Assessment

Soft Skills

• Team Collaboration
• Detail-Oriented

Certifications

• HAZOP Certification
• MSHA Training Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous
