Tax Revenue Officer

Job Description

As a Tax Revenue Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing tax laws and ensuring compliance within the South African tax system. You will conduct audits, provide guidance to taxpayers, and collect tax revenues. We are looking for an individual with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce tax regulations effectively.
• Identify and investigate potential tax evasion or fraud.
• Support taxpayers with compliance procedures and questions.
• Conduct comprehensive reviews of financial records for accuracy.
• Prepare presentations on tax revenue collection.
• Keep informed about the latest tax legislation.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of taxpayer information.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior staff within the department.
• Review compliance strategies and suggest improvements.
• Assist in the creation of public awareness programs on taxation.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Tax Law
• Postgraduate tax qualification is preferred

Experience

• Experience with the South African Revenue Service (SARS) is a significant advantage
