SOC Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled SOC Analyst to join our dedicated cybersecurity team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will work to monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents to protect our organisation's IT infrastructure. You will collaborate with other analysts to ensure a swift response to incidents, maintaining the highest standards of security.

Responsibilities

• Maintain logs and threat data, ensuring precise documentation for forensics.
• Conduct root cause analysis after incident resolution to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as law enforcement, when necessary.
• Assist in the development of security awareness training for staff.
• Explore and propose new technologies to improve overall security posture.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Information Security or related field
• Security certifications are an added advantage

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity analysis

• Intrusion detection
• Network security

• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
• CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with GDPR and POPIA: Knowledge of data protection regulations like GDPR and South Africa's POPIA.
• Experience with Cloud Security: Expertise in securing cloud-based environments.
