Terminal Makeup Operator

Job Description

The Terminal Makeup Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment required for the transfer, storage, and blending of petroleum products in a terminal. This role demands a proactive approach to ensuring quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor blending processes to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Perform quality checks on product outputs.
• Record all operations and report any discrepancies.
• Work under pressure to meet deadlines and production schedules.
• Participate in safety drills and training.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Technical diploma or relevant trade certification (e.g., diesel mechanic, millwright, electrician)

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role

Technical Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• SCADA systems

Soft Skills

• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with SCADA systems: Hands-on experience in operating SCADA systems for process control.
• Additional technical certifications: Possession of relevant certifications would be an advantage.
