Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Mining Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mining operations, with an emphasis on safety and efficiency. You will be responsible for designing and implementing mining processes, collaborating closely with geologists and other engineers to ensure optimal production.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects related to the optimization of mining methods and techniques.
• Conduct thorough analyses of mine production and operational performance.
• Work alongside cross-disciplinary teams to enhance mining strategies.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Manage budgets and resource allocation for mining projects.
• Collaborate with contractors to ensure project milestones are met.
• Regularly report on project status to senior management.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks in mining operations.
• Develop plans for mine closures and rehabilitation where necessary.
• Stay updated with new technologies and methods in mining engineering.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Mining Engineering or related field is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in underground mining operations
