Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer (AWS) to join our vibrant team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and managing cloud services, ensuring high availability and performance for our applications. You will work with various stakeholders to implement effective cloud solutions and optimize existing infrastructures, making sure they align with business needs.

Responsibilities

• Architect cloud solutions tailored to business needs.
• Set up monitoring and alerting systems for operational efficiency.
• Facilitate training for team members on AWS tools and best practices.
• Conduct regular audits of cloud resources for optimization.
• Assist in disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Evaluate new cloud technologies and tools to drive improvements.
• Provide technical guidance and support for cloud implementations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's in Computer Science or relevant field
• Master's degree is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years in cloud engineering roles focusing on AWS

Technical Skills

• CloudFormation
• CI/CD Tools

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Communication

Certifications

• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
• Microsoft Azure Fundamentals

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies: Experience working in Agile project environments.
• Knowledge of Azure cloud platform is a plus: Familiar with Azure services and solutions.
