Industrial Engineer (Lean Specialist)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer (Lean Specialist) to optimise our operational processes in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will implement lean methodologies, improving efficiency, reducing waste, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

Responsibilities

• Implement lean manufacturing techniques to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Conduct process reviews to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement operational strategies.
• Train and mentor staff on lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Develop process mapping and value-stream mapping to visualise workflows.
• Utilise data analysis to support decision-making processes.
• Track performance metrics and report on improvement outcomes.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings to drive team engagement in lean initiatives.
• Lead projects focused on enhancing operational effectiveness.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
• Lean Six Sigma certification is highly desirable

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
