Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Structural Engineer with a passion for sustainable design. You will be involved in all phases of the project lifecycle, from initial concept through to the final sign-off. Your expertise will contribute to creating functional, aesthetically pleasing, and safe structures.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and recommend appropriate construction methods and materials.
• Supervise junior engineers and interns in the design processes.
• Review and approve shop drawings from contractors.
• Participate in risk assessments and mitigation planning.
• Engage with local authorities during permit processes.
• Research and implement sustainable building practices.
• Attend industry conferences to stay updated on innovations.
• Develop and adhere to project work schedules.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Certification in Structural Engineering is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in structural design and analysis

Technical Skills

• Building Information Modeling (BIM)
• Sustainable Design Practices

Certifications

• LEED AP certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic
