Structural Engineer

Job Description

As a Structural Engineer with us in Durban, you will play a critical role in the design and implementation of structural projects. You will utilize your technical skills to ensure that all designs meet safety regulations and sustainability standards while working collaboratively with architects and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed structural designs and specifications.
• Perform calculations to ensure the safety and stability of structures.
• Coordinate with architects and other engineers to create cohesive designs.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and compliance.
• Prepare and present reports on structural assessments.
• Ensure that all designs comply with local building codes and regulations.
• Participate in project planning and management.
• Assess and mitigate risks associated with structural projects.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Master's degree is advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in structural engineering

• Structural Analysis Software
• AutoCAD
• Building Codes Knowledge

Certifications
