Canned Food Reconditioning Inspector

Job Description

We are looking for a diligent Canned Food Reconditioning Inspector to join our quality control team. The ideal candidate will ensure that all canned food products meet stringent safety and quality standards through detailed inspections and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct rigorous inspections of canned food products for defects and contamination.
• Document quality issues and report findings to the management.
• Work alongside the production and packaging teams to resolve quality issues promptly.
• Manage the reconditioning process for defective products, ensuring proper reprocessing and repackaging.
• Ensure that tools and equipment are calibrated and well-maintained.
• Stay updated on food safety and quality regulations and standards.
• Assist in the implementation of quality assurance processes.
• Provide feedback on production processes to improve overall quality.
• Support the management in audits and compliance reviews.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Certificate or Diploma in Quality Control or equivalent

Experience

• Experience in canned food reconditioning is advantageous

Technical Skills

• HACCP knowledge

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in managing a team: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop team members.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management system: Familiarity with the ISO 9001 standard for quality management.
• Familiarity with HACCP principles: Understanding of the principles of food safety management.
