Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in Pretoria. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in veterinary medicine, with a passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing high-quality care. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of animal health issues, performing surgeries, and collaborating with clients to ensure the best outcomes for their pets.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine check-ups and preventive care consultations.
  • Perform complex surgical procedures and emergency interventions.
  • Provide compassionate end-of-life care for terminally ill pets.
  • Engage with pet owners to understand their concerns.
  • Keep up with veterinary trends and continuingly enhance skills.
  • Participate in local veterinary conferences and workshops.
  • Assist in the management of inventory and medical supplies.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate with specialists for advanced diagnostics or treatments.
  • Promote a culture of health and safety within the practice.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications are an advantage
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a clinical veterinary setting
