Manufacturing Supervisor

Job Description

As a Manufacturing Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our factory in Johannesburg. You will lead a skilled team, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining quality standards and safety protocols. Your role is critical in driving operational efficiency and fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage production workflows to optimize utilization of resources.
• Ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
• Set and communicate performance objectives for the team.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching for team members.
• Investigate and resolve any operational discrepancies.
• Work closely with maintenance to schedule repairs and maintenance.
• Enhance team morale and encourage a culture of teamwork.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement.
• Analyze production metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
• Application of quality management systems to improve operational output.

Requirements

Education

• BTech in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• MBA is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting

• SAP ERP
• Health & Safety Regulations

Certifications

• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
• Lean Specialist Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational
