Cybersecurity Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team in Port Elizabeth. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and managing security measures to protect our systems and data from cyber threats. The ideal candidate will have experience in assessing and mitigating risks, as well as developing security protocols.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with external security vendors and partners.
• Evaluate new security technologies and recommend improvements.
• Lead investigation of security breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop security policies and procedures for all levels of the organization.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and standards.
• Monitor the deployment of new software to identify security risks.
• Assist in security awareness presentations and workshops.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Cybersecurity or Information Security preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a cybersecurity role

• SIEM Tools
• Firewalls and VPNs

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Collaboration

Certifications

• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
• CompTIA Security+

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Incident Response Planning: Involvement in creating and testing incident response plans.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps: Understanding of integrating security in DevOps practices.
