Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Impact Specialist to join our team in Johannesburg. This role involves evaluating the environmental impacts of development projects and ensuring compliance with local regulations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of environmental science and management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental assessments and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Work closely with project managers to integrate sustainability into project designs.
  • Conduct field surveys and data collection to evaluate environmental conditions.
  • Identify potential environmental impacts and develop mitigation measures.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies to ensure project compliance.
  • Provide training and support for team members on environmental issues.
  • Conduct stakeholder consultations to gather input on projects.
  • Review and analyze environmental legislation and updates.
  • Develop and implement programs to enhance environmental performance.
  • Report on environmental performance metrics to management.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or related field
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred
Experience
  • 5 years of experience in environmental consultancy projects
