Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate Mental Health Counselor to join our Cape Town team. The successful candidate will provide therapeutic support to clients facing emotional and psychological challenges. You will develop personalized treatment plans, facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. This role requires excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for helping others.

Responsibilities

• Regularly check and assess the health of animals in our care.
• Engage in continuing education to stay current with veterinary practices.
• Implement infection control policies to ensure a safe environment.
• Collaborate closely with technicians and other veterinarians on complex cases.
• Respond to all client inquiries and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment.

Requirements

Education

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
• Specialization in Exotic Animal Medicine is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mixed animal practice preferred

• Diagnostic Imaging

Certifications

• Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (VECCS) Certification
• Fear Free Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
