Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our financial team in Johannesburg. In this role, you will manage various accounting responsibilities including preparing financial statements, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements in compliance with IFRS principles.
• Conduct variance analysis on budget vs actual performance.
• Carry out financial modeling and risk assessments.
• Communicate financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Monitor financial performance and report on key metrics.
• Oversee cash management and investment activities.
• Collaborate with external auditors and manage audit timelines.
• Provide training to staff on accounting software and processes.
• Develop and maintain useful financial databases.
• Contribute to strategic planning initiatives from a financial perspective.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Master's degree in Finance is a plus

• 4+ years of experience in a similar role
