Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a busy healthcare environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Accurately dispense medications to patients while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical guidelines.
• Collaborate with pharmacists to verify medication orders and check for drug interactions.
• Maintain accurate records of medications and inventory.
• Assist in the training of new pharmacy staff.
• Participate in continuous professional development and training programs.
• Support the pharmacy team in enhancing overall customer service experience.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Pharmacy Technician Certification

Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in a pharmacy role, ideally in a hospital setting.

Technical Skills

• Pharmacy software systems
• Clinical knowledge

Soft Skills

• Organizational skills
• Time management

Certifications

• Active registration with the South African Pharmacy Council

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in a hospital or healthcare environment: Prior exposure to high-pressure healthcare settings will be beneficial.
• Knowledge of stock management practices: Experience in maintaining accurate inventory and stock levels.
