DevOps Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a passionate DevOps Engineer to join our vibrant team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will play a key role in automating and optimizing our operations and deployment pipelines. A solid understanding of both development and operations is essential, as you'll work across multiple teams to ensure seamless cloud services delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to enhance system reliability and performance.
• Analyze current processes and drive improvements.
• Assist in managing cloud resources and interfaces.
• Develop and maintain documentation of deployment processes.
• Train and mentor junior team members.
• Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies.
• Contribute to architectural design discussions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Master's degree in a related field is preferred

Experience

• 4-6 years of experience in cloud or DevOps roles

Technical Skills

• Python or Bash scripting
• Networking

Soft Skills

• Adaptability
• Critical thinking

Certifications

• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
• CompTIA Cloud+

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with monitoring tools: Experience with tools like Prometheus or Grafana for system monitoring.
